How long is too long for a honeymoon?

shannon052865 asked:

My fiance and I found this really great 10 day cruise. It’s from Hawaii to Tahiti. We don’t want to miss out on any of the great sites so we were thinking possible of going down 3 or 4 days early to make sure we see some of Hawaii and have a few days to relax on the beach and then staying on in Tahiti 3 or 4 days before we fly back home. So I am just wondering how long is too long for honeymoon?

We were looking at doing a 14 night Hawaiian cruise, leaving from Vancouver and docking in Honolulu. We were then going to spend a further week in Honolulu before flying home. But then my fiance coulnd’t get the time off. We started looking at shorter cruises, because we too wanted to stay somewhere after leaving the ship.

Also, I don’t know where you live, but we’re in the UK, so we would have to take time to get over the jet lag after getting back too, which adds another 2 days to our trip.

It really depends how long you want it to be, and how much time off you can get. You can also find 4 night cruises around Hawaii…

I personally like the idea of taking 3 weeks. A honeymoon is the biggest holiday you take, and if you’re in the UK, you want to go long haul, meaning it makes sense to take 3 weeks. But I’ve heard of people taking 2 days, or even 8 weeks (they travelled across the States). It’s down to the couple.

That sounds awesome! Its all about what you can afford. The more you can afford, the better. A long honeymoon will be good for you two, plus relaxing after all the stress of planning a wedding! Have fun!

To me, 2 weeks is too long. But 10 days is good.
Have fun on your honeymoon, and congratulations! :)

A cruise sounds fun!!! (I went for 2 weeks so whatever floats your boat!) Sounds nice and relaxing! Nice! I think the 3 or 4 days in Hawaii before the cruise leaves will be wonderful!!!! (Nice choice~you eliminated the one factor I was going to mention about the cruises: you don’t get to spend very long in the different places) Have fun & CONGRATS

As long as you can stand to be alone with your new spouse until you start to crave the company of others.

It’s individual. I don’t think the trip you’re proposing is too long.

Anything over two weeks is getting into too long in my opionion but if you can get the time enjoy it

It’s never too long. We had 5 nights in Hawaii & were desperately trying to add more to our stay but the cost of switching flights, moving rooms, etc. just was too much so we left. We would have loved to be there longer.

I think more than 2 weeks is somewhat long… unless you can completely forget about your everyday life.

Most people I know only get 14 days off for vacation annually. If you want to blow it all on a cruise, go for it. The length of your honeymoon is not important to anybody but the newlyweds.
