January hands down. January is when theres heavy rain, one year it rained everyday for the entire month, another year the roof of my shop class, which is old but not frail, got ripped off from the strong wind. Every year it rains in january, this year its not too bad. December and the begining of febuary can be pretty bad too. its strange that someone said june and may because those are the months when the sun is out basically every day, with a couple showers in the month.

Last year it was late March/early April. It was a record year of rain for all of Hawaii, particularly Kauai (where I live). I believe we had rain for 28 days straight -- it was horrendous! There was flooding all over the island -- dams broke and killed people, bridges were out, causing people to not be able to get to work, etc. It was pretty bad.

Most parts of Hawaii get a little rain almost daily. It's usually a slight mist or drizzle that doesn't even really affect you. But we also get torrential downpours, which is why the islands are so green! Most of the rain will occur on the east sides of the islands, so if you're in Poipu on Kauai, Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, Kihei or Lahaina on Maui, and Honolulu or Makaha on Oahu, you will likely experience less rain than in Princeville, Hilo, upcountry Maui, and eastern Oahu.

Have fun and don't worry too much. You're going to be in Hawaii! :) Aloha

The weather has been very unpredictable, here and everywhere. I remember when it would rain so much and it's been pretty dry so far this winter. It's also been really warm! Can't wait for Mauna Kea to snow so it will be cooler at least a little.

It's raining now because of an approaching storm but it stopped and all is quiet. Unless there is a really bad storm coming then you may not see sunshine for awhile. You should have at least a few days, if not, the whole entire trip with sunshine. Certain parts of the Hawaiian Islands naturally have a lot of rain like on Kauai and Hilo on the Big Island...just so you know.

Have fun!

Well, it depends on where you are in Oahu.....IF you are in Waikiki then yes, it is the warmest in the summer...but if your on the north shore where I live it is the warmest in November because the tradewinds don't blown like they ususally do, west side will always be warmer at any time. aloha!

late winter and early spring are the rainy months - when i lived there it rained for 11 days straight in February - BUT I also was living on the East side of Oahu where it rains more than say in Honolulu... On the cruise you will be traveling over a pretty big distance and some places have more rain the others. Hilo (on the Big Island) is usually more rainy than Kona that is on the other side of the Big Island. so you should have some sunny days - and hawaii rain is quite different than mainland rain - for one thing it is usually still pretty warm - 70's and 80's and the rain storms sometimes only last for 5 minutes or so... be prepared for both rain and sun.

Good luck and Aloha!
